Medically Fragile
Every day in the U.S., infants are born with serious or ongoing medical needs.
Sometimes, an expectant mother has already begun making an adoption plan. Other times, the decision comes after birth—when the medical complexity of the child’s condition becomes known and the parent determines they are not emotionally or financially prepared to meet those needs.Because Gladney believes that every child deserves a loving, caring family, the Domestic Infant Adoption Program includes a path specifically designed for infants with non-correctable medical and/or congenital conditions. These placements occur on a limited basis, and the associated adoption fees are often significantly reduced—thanks to the generosity of donors and fundraising efforts.
This program reflects Gladney’s commitment to:
â—Ź Helping medically fragile children find opportunities for permanent, nurturing homes.
â—Ź Removing financial barriers for hopeful adoptive families who are equipped to provide specialized care.
â—Ź Creating bright futures through adoption, one unique child at a time.
Applicant criteria are based on the needs of the child. If you are interested in learning more about adopting a medically fragile child, contact Gladney’s Adoption Advisor at 817-502-6209.
